Society’s Dahlia Show Opened At Greymouth Today

The West Coast Horticultural Society opened its summer dahlia show at the Wesley. Hall this afternoon. All sections are well filled and the standard of blooms on display is high. The floral display for the Ashby Bergh Challenge Cup was won by the Blaketown Women’s Institute with a total of 109 points, and the Karoro Institute was second with 94 points. The floral art display for the Challenge Trophy, was won by /he Townswomen’s Guild garden circle with a total of 106 points, the Blaketown and Kaiata Women’s Institutes being second equal with 100 points. The judge for the dahlias was Mr W. W. Buchanan, of Karoro, and Mrs M. Trott judged the cut flowers and decorative sections.
