"On Last Trip”
The Minister of Lands and Rehabilitation, Mr Skinner, and his party stopped at Timaru for tea on their way to address a public meeting at Geraldine on a recent evening. On returning to the Ministerial car, a particularly large and recent model of American make parked in a conspicuous part of the main street of the city, the party was surprised to find on a large placard attached to the windscreen the words. ‘•Our last trip.” Petrol For Boating Petrol allocations for pleasure craft for the current season were announced today by 'the Minister of Supply, Mr Nordmeyer. The details are as follows: Launches—up to 13 feet, five gallons per month; up to 25 feet 10 gallons; up to 30 feet, 20 gallons; up to 35 feet, 25 gallons; over 35 feet 30 gallons. Boats using outboard motors —up to and including 5 H.P. four gallons per month; over 5 H.P. eight gallons, Auxiliary yachts—the monthly allocation for an auxiliary yacht is to be half the quantity authorised in respect of a launch of the same water-line length.—(P.A.)
