ESCAPE FROM PRISON
AUCKLAND, This Day (P.A.).— A man escaped from the Auckland prison at 11.20 today. He is Hilton Edward Stanley Smith, aged 26. When the alarm was given, four car-loads of police were rushed from central police station to form a cordon and to search. Smith was seen in Khyber Pass road and later in Symonds street, headed toward Eden terrace.
