MATAI DREDGING PLAN: MINISTER STILL ‘CONSIDERING’
An indication that the Minister of Mines, Mr A. McLagan, was still considering the application by the Ngahere Gold Dredging Company Ltd for a special dredging claim licence over
2000 acres in the Matai district, was i given in the Warden’s Court at Greymouth this morning, when the comI pany’s application came up for its adjourned hearing. I In view of the circumstances, a {further adjournment to December 7 i was granted by Mr E. A. Lee S.M. (as Warden), and an application for an extension of time for the hearing of the special dredging claim No. 24/49 was recommended to the Minister for consent. Other applications before the Warden, were dealt with as follows: —. John Robert Symes, for ordinary prospecting licence over 161 acres, Block 10, Mawheranui S.D.—Granted. John Eadie; for ordinary prospecting licence over 45 acres, Block 16, Waiwhero S.D. —Recommended for consent of the Minister of Mines. Carl Henry Gillman, for surrender of water-race licence 8398, dated July 1, 1935. —Recommended for consent of Minister. William Charles Symes, for ordinary prospecting licence over 4| acres, Blk 10, Mawheranui S.D.—Granted. John Robert Symes, for ordinary
prospecting licence over 48.4 acres, Blk 11, Mawheranui S.D.—Granted. William John Dennehy, for waterrace, Blk 9, Waiwhero S.D., three heads, 21 years.—Granted subject to non-interference with the rights of Jane Ryall under water-race licence No. 34/1913. John Douglas Craig, for leave to enter and peg section 2913, Blk 8, Mawheranui S.D., owned by Henry Dalziel—Granted. Edward Jeffrey Mann, for ordinary prospecting licence over 59 acres, Blk 2, Mawheranui S.D.—Recommended for consent of Minister. Several other applications were adjourned. _
