QUEEN CARNIVAL CROWNING CEREMONY ON TUESDAY NIGHT

The Regent Theatre will be a scene of .regal splendour on Tuesday evening when the crowning of Miss Louie Henderson as Queen of the Rugby-Basketball Queen Carnival, and the investiture of Misses Beverly Anderson, Edna Hannam, Jean Finn and Ella Cawley as Princesses, will take place. Misses Mary Longstaff and Fay Curtain, who participated in the Basketball Carnival prior to the launching of the combined effort, will also be honoured during the evening. In all, the royal party will comprise 58 members. The ceremony will be presented under the direction of Mrs J. W. Hannan, assisted by Mrs C. R. McGinley, and all who recall earlier ceremonies under the same direction know that a splendid entertainment is assured. The Mayor, Mr F. F. Boustridge, will perform the crowning ceremony and a specially-trained Convent Orchestra will provide musical items. The supporting programme includes several items by the Miriam Trott School of Dancing, a display by the Cobden marching team and items by well-known, local vocalists. This entertainment will mark the close of the successful Queen Carnival recently conducted to raise funds for the West Coast Union and the West Coast Basketball Association. .
