POSSIBILITY OF EARLY ELECTION RAISED IN BRITAIN
LONDON, September 23.—The British Cabinet will decide whether or not to have an early General Election when Labour Party agents throughout the country have reported on the effects in electorates of the devaluation of sterling and its consequences, it was reported in London this morning.
If, in spite of all the Government’s efforts, prices begin to rise,- there will be strong pressure for an election this year, says one political commentator. Three other factors, he adds, may decide the issue—first, the reaction of the Trades Union Congress: second, the state of the party’s finances; and third, the attitude; of the rank and file of the party.
