All Blacks’ Line Was Crossed Only Eight Times

I In all their matches in South Africa, the 1949 All Blacks had their] i line crossed only eight times, but 34 penalty goals were • notched against them. For their own part,] they scored 43 tries and kicked 15 penalty goals in addition to field i goals. The All Blacks played 24 games, won 14, lost 7 and drew 3, scoring 230 points with 146 against. All four tests were lost. The 1928 All Blacks played 22 matches, won 16, lost 5, and drew 1, scoring 339 points with 144 against. Two tests out of four were won. The 1938 British team played 23 matches in South Africa, won 17 and I lost 6, scoring 394 points with 266 l against. Two tests out of three were lost.
