PIPER REJOINS THE AUSTRALIAN TEAM
’ AUCKLAND, Sept. 22 (P.A.) — With his arm in a sling, the Australian Rugby full-back, B. Piper, rejoined the team in Auckland today. He has been staying with Mr D. S. B. Heather, manager of the New Zealand Maori team in Australia this year, since he fractured his right arm in a fall from a balcony at Whakatane last month. Piper, who is one of the most popular members of the team, received a vociferous welcome from the Australians, and the
manager (Mr R. Walden) said: “It is worth three points to us to see | him again.” Piper’s arm will be m ■plaster for another two months. | The Australian team arrived by air from Christchurch todpy for the second test against New Zealand at Eden Park on Saturday. I The . three-quarters, C. Davis and J. Fogarty, are suffering from pulledi muscles, and the front row forward, 1 'J. Baxter, had three stitches inserted, 1 over an eye after the match against] , Canterbury on Wednesday. He isincluded, however, in the nine for-] .wards from whom the test pack will 1 be picked.
