RICCARTON VIEW ON FIELDS FOR WINGATUI
CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.—The Dunedin Jockey Club will open spring racing with its meeting tomorrow. Large fields will parade in all events, and will include horses from all parts of the South Island; Special interest will be centred in the first two-year-old race of .the new term, the McLean Stakes. Many o£j the youngsters have shown marked ability in track work and in parades. The principal event, the Ranfurly Handicap, promises to provide a close tussle. The list is headed by Signal officer, who is being called on to concede no, less than two stone to the next, Maryburn, whose winning form last Saturday will probably cause him to be first choice.
A good class field will contest the Telegraph Handicap, in which Western Winner, Gold King arid Trinidad, candidates for the Dunedin Guineas on th,e second day/ will be seen in action. Two other promising candidates, Beaumaris and Robinfaye, will appear-in the October Handicap. Riding engagements .as follows have been made at Riccarton: C. King,.
