CZECH COMMUNISTS ACCUSE THE CATHOLIC BISHOPS
PRAGUE, September 22 (Rec. 10 a.m.). —The Czechoslovak Government has accused the Roman Catholic bishops of attempting to sabotage the new Government-sponsored Church Control Bill by employing “deliberate untruths,” and illegal pressure upon the nation’s priests, says ’ the Associated Press. . tr * The charges were made in “Katolicke Noviny”—a newspaper for Catholics founded by the Government Ministry of Education after the regular Catholic Church press was suppressed. The paper claimed that the Catholic. Bishops were using pressure.against priests to force them into signing protests against the Church Bill, which will come before the National Assembly shortly. Authoritative Church sources reported today that the Abbot of the Benedictine Monastery at Bevnov, cn the outskirts of Prague, has been arrested. ,
