BRITAIN LEADS IN DEVELOPMENT OF RADAR DETECTION
LONDON, September 21 (Rec. 11 a.m.).—Britain was not behind any country in the world in radar and was determined to keep her lead, said the Minister for Supply, Mr Strauss, in opening an exhibition of radar equipment at the Ministry’s research establishment at Malvern, Worcestershire. , ~ Mr Strauss revealed that when the first V-2 rockets were fired the radar system picked them .up and the launching site was calculated and pinpointed before the rocket had finished its flight. .
