Mr J. B. Pearson left for Nelson this morning bv the air service. 1 Corporalß. Sowman, of-the. Army staff at Nelson, arrived last evening for temporary duties at Greymouth. Mr and Mrs G. H. Chapman left today for Christchurch, where they will reside. Mr H. Hardaker arrived yesterday from Bluff to act as relieving manager. of the Union Steam Ship Co. at Greymouth. „ Dr W. Wong, of Dunedin, has been appointed junior house surgeon at the Buller Hospital. He was the only apphC£ Mr and Mrs L. H. Bohmann left this morning on a holiday visit to Tasmania. Messrs S. Lawn and J. Laing left tnis morning on return to Dunedin. Mr W. H. Mclntyre, of Millerton, has been reappointed to the Legislative Council. He was previously a member continuously for 28 years, or four terms, the last of which expired recently. Only one member has previously enjoyed such a lengthv membership.
