N.Z. Skiing Team To Meet Australians
WELLINGTON, This Day (P.A.).— Except for one man, yet to be chosen, the men’s and women’s teams to meet the Australian ski teams at National Park, were announced today. The teams are:— , , Men: H. G. Lonsdale, S. S. Lonsdale, J. Mills (all Queenstown) , A. Hayward (Taihape), and R. McKenzie (Wellington) . , Women: Miss Helen Alanson, Miss Peg McMahon (both National Park), Mrs Pat McNab (Taranaki), and Mrs Ccreen Gilkinson (Dunedin). H. G. Lonsdale and Mills are 18 and S. S. Lonsdale 21, and all performed exceptionally well at Queenstown. The Australian party arrived from the south this morning by the steamer express and left this afternoon for Chateau Tongariro. It includes T. Aslangul, who has raced at Olympic championships, and T. Alston, who intends racing in Europe. The inter-Dominion meeting will start on September 25 and will be followed bv the New Zealand ski championships, concluding on October 2.
