Death Follows Finger Injury At Football
NEW PLYMOUTH, Sept. 20 (P.A.) —A finger injury suffered when playing Rugby football, resulted in the death of Mr Peter Thomas Christie, of Manaia, on Sunday, at the age of 25. Mr Christie, who represented the King Country at Rugby, was employed by the Post and Telegraph Department and was stationed at Piopio. He was admitted to the Auckland Hospital, where he underwent the removal of the tip of his finger, and later the whole finger. This brought no improvement in his condition, and he was taken to the Waikato Hospital at Hamilton for special treatment. Five weeks ago he went into hospital at Hawera, where he died.
