“Arch of Triumph,” starring Ingrid Bergman and Charles Boyer. Emerging as one of the finest films of the year, the pitcurisation of Erich Maria Remarque’s famed novel Arch of Triumph,” showing at the Opera HousPlaying co-starred roles are Ingrid Bergman, as Joan Madou, the restless Italian heroine/- and Charles Boyer, as Ravic, the philosophical refugee doctor from Vienna who is living on the bunk of tragedy in Paris. Also co-starred is Charles Laughton, as a sly Gestapo agent, and Louis Calhern, as a Russian doorman at the Cafe Scheherezade, a brilliant night spot. The principle setting is Paris during 1939 just prior to the invasion when the city was alive with refugees from other lands with a number of colourful scenes played on the lovely Riviera coast and hi the exciting gambling casino at Monte Carlo. Regent Theatre “One Night With You,” starring Patricia Roc, Nino Martini. “One Night With You,” set in sunny Italy, concerns an English girl and an Italian film star who are both stranded without money or baggage on a lonely Italian railway station. How they get in and out of trouble and fall m love makes tuneful and humorous screen entertainment. • ' A special feature at the evening sessions is a brilliant Pageant of Fashion, portraying the latest exciting overseas trends in day and evening wear, millinery. sports wear, bathing costumes, and lingerie. A gay colourful festival of fashion climaxed by radiant new bridal tableau. Fashions are by Trumans Limited and gracefully displayed by a bevey of ten charming mannequins—Misses Monica Sinnott, Louie Henderson.
