TWO PEDESTRIANS STRUCK BY LORRY AT STILLWATER
Two women pedestrians were knocked down by a motor lorry on the main highway near the Stillwater Hall a’bout 10.30 last night but they were not seriously injured. The victims of the accident were Mrs O. E. Merrie, of Stillwater, and a visitor from Christchurch, Mrs Tomlinson, who is staying with Mr and Mrs Merrie. They were walking from the Stillwater' Hall towards their home when they were struck by a lorry owned by Riversale Dairy Supplies Ltd, and driven by an employee of the firm, Mr John Larcombe. Visibility on the sealed highway was not good at the time of the accident and it is understood that the lorry was not travelling fast. The two women suffered from shock but were not’ otherwise, injured.
