SEAMEN ENTERING N.Z. “IN BODIES”
WELLINGTON, This Day (P.A.). —Four Norwegian seamen pleaded guilty in the Magistrate’s Court today to charges of absenting themselves without leave from the. tanker Marina on August 30, and with landing unlawfully in New Zealand, being prohibited immigrants. Mr H. Thomas, for the Customs Department said that lately men had been coming ashore from their ships in bodies. He asked that accused be deported and that they be detained in custody for six months, pending deportation. The Magistrate, Mr J. Hessell, remanded the accused in custody until Monday. _________
