Wedding
Allen—BrUhn The wedding took place at Holy Trinity Church, Greymouth, recently of Metta Esme, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs A. Bruhn, of. Rutherglen, and Norman Stanley (Jim), eldest son of Mr and Mrs S. Allen, of Paroa. The Rev. K. G. Aubrey officiated and Mr J. Paterson was at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore an ivory satin frock cut on princess lines aiid with a lace yoke. It featured bishop sleeves with lace insertions at the wrists and a full train caught by a true lovers knot. Her full length tulle veil was mounted on a coronet of stiffened lace and she carried a bouquet of freezias. spring flowers and maidenhair fern. The bride was accompanied by her sister, Mrs S. Armstrong, as matron of honour. She was frocked in turquoise marquisette featuring a full skirt and a fitting bodice with a frilled shoulder cape. Her shoulder length tulle veil fell from a coronet of pink stock. She carried a bouquet of pink stock, iris and maidenhair fern. On leaving the church The bride was presented with a horseshoe by her neice, Judith Harvey. Mr T. Lalor was best man. During the ceremony. Miss Betty Essex sang “I’ll walk beside you.” .. The reception was held at Harker’s where the guests were received by the bride’s mother who was wearing a wine suit with black accessories and a shoulder spray of blue iris and cyclamen. She was assisted by the bridegroom’s mother who wore a navy suit under a fur coat and navy and white accessories. Her shoulder spray was of pink stock and freezias. When Mr and Mrs N. S. Allen left later on their honeymoon, the bride was wearing a blue model frock under a grey coat and black accessories.
