GREECE IN SIGHT OF PEACE AND SECURITY
LONDON, August 19 (Rec. 10.0)— The Associated Press Athens correspondent reports that the Marshal Aid administrator, Mr Paul Hoffman, said today that Greece had reached an historic moment and was nearing the end of 10 years of war and struggle. “I Believe that a secure and peaceful Greece is now in reach of lhe brave Greek people,” he said. He was referring to the recent military successes by Government troops against the guerrillas, and urged the Greek nation to “take advantage of the extraordinary opportunity of the moment” by rapidly expanding industry. Mr Hoffman said that this expansion was vital to prevent mast unemployment, when an estimated 600,000 refugees returned to their homes and the Army was demobilised.
