GERMAN SOCIALISTS REJECT PROPOSAL FOR A COALITION
BERLIN, August 19 (Rec 10.30 a.m.).—The Social Democrat party would never participate in a Coalition Government With the Christian Democrats, Mr Fritze Heine, the Social Democratic Party press chief, said today. Mr Heine made his statement as Dr Konrad Adenauer, the Christian Democrat leader, widely regarded as the future Chancellor of West Germany’s first post-war Government, continued the policy talks with party chiefs at Bonn. Mr Heine said the Social Democrats rejected the Christian Democrats’ economic policy. No compromise on this would be possible.
