SHIPS DELAYED AT GREYMOUTH

Two ships, loaded in port at Greymouth, have been prevented from sailing by bar conditions. They are the Poolta, which, with a Cargo of coal for Wellington was ready to sail on Wednesday and the Kaimiro which was ready on Thursday with a cargo of coal and posts for Napier. The ships are loaded to a restricted draught on account of the depth of water on the bar diminishing with the neap tides, but considerable seas at the harbour entrance have delayed the taking of soundings which are necessary before the ships can sail. However there are .prospects that soundings will be taken this afternoon and that a clearance of shipping will be made on the evening tide.'
