MECHANISATION OF DENNISTON MINE PROPOSED
WELLINGTON, August 19 (P.A.). Replying to the debate on the second refding of the Coal Mmes Amendment Bill, the Minister of Mines, Mr.McLagan, said that fie was pleased with the reception that members had given the Bill. He said that the Government intended to mechanise completely the Denniston mine. Through boring operations additional coal resources, he said, had been found, and the contour of the coal seams had been determined. The coal would be cut mechanically, and he considered that the purchase of the mine would be a bargain not only for the State, but also for the country. _
