ELECTIONS IN SOVIET ZONE DEMANDED
BERLIN, August 17 (Rec. 9 a.m.). —Elections in the Soviet zone of Germany were demanded today by Mr Deord Dertinger, general secretary of the Soviet Zone Christian Democratic Union, the German news agency in the Soviet zone reported. He said that the elections to the West German Federal Government had completed the splitting of Germany and now was the time for the Eastern zone likewise to elect a zonal Parliament.
