Poliomyelitis In U.S.
The present infantile paralysis epidemic in the United States is threatening to become one of the worst in history. The United States Public Health Service today reported that there had been 10.748 cases this year. Thus 1949 is likely to be the second worst year for infantile paralysis in the' nation s history.—New York, August 15.
