Basketball Team

Sir,—On reading the basketball notes in the Greymouth Evening Star on Friday, I was surprised to see it said that the West Coast basketball representatives were to play in the second grade division at the New Zealand tournament for the first time. This is not correct as West Coast played in the second division at Wellington-in 194 G and again at Rotorua the following year, and then decided to go back again to the third grade division. Previous to 1940 they had played third grade. In my opinion this year’s team is quite a good one and, barring accidents, they should give a good account of themselves. Wishing the team success in every game they play at the tournament. —Yours etc. R. J. ARMSTRONG, SEN. Runanga, August 16.
