AMATEUR ATHLETIC RECORDS APPROVED
WELLINGTON, This Day (P.A.).— The New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association has approved Shirley Strickland’s New Zealand record of 8 3-5 seconds in the women’s 75 yards at Dunedin on February 26. It has also approved, Yvette Williams’s record shot putt of 34ft 6|-in also at Dunedin on February 9. Miss Strickland’s 11 7-10 sec in the 80-metre hurdles at New Plymouth on March 5 was not recognised, pending the forwarding of the correct form of certificate for the stop-watch test. ■ '
