£1000 REDUCTION MADE IN GREY HOTEL SALE

A reduction of almost £lOOO was made by the Westland Land Valuation Committee when it announced its decision yesterday on an application by P. Keating to sell the Central hotel, Greymouth, to C. E. Bourke for £5500. The committee consented to the sale at £4575, indicating that it had reached this decision on the basis of a rental value of £8 a week.

Though formerly known as the Ship Inn, the Central hatel, had a third and yet earlier name, it was reported today, being known in the town’s earliest days as the Rose of Australia.
