The fifth round of matches in the Canterbury Rugby Union’s senior championship was played in Cmistchurch on Saturday m good football ■weather and on grounds which should have been in favour of good play. After Saturday’s games Christchurch leads with 41 championship points. Next on the list are Marist and Technical with four points each, Merivale and Ola Boys 21 points, Sydenham, Albion and University two points, SunnysideSpreydon one point, Linwood I point, New Brighton 0. Results of Saturday games were.—Old Boys 11, Albion 9; Marist 24, Merivale 0; Christchurch 26, New Brighton 5; Sydenham 16, Linwood 5; Technical 9, Sunnyside-Sprey-don 6; University a bye.
