N.Z. Yacht Crosses Tasman Two young New Zealand former servicemen made the Tasman crossing by yacht to march in the Anzac procession in Sydney today. They are Mr Howard Pitcher, an accountant, who served with the Royal New Zealand Air Force, and Mr D. Newton, an assembler, who was in the Army, and lost a leg at Tobruk. They arrived in the 38-year-old yacht Colonist, which they own jointly. They intend to stay in Australia for several months. A New Zealand farmer, Mr Harvev Manuel, ..accompanied them. The yacht left Auckland on March 23, and put in to Lord Howe Island for a At Lord Howe Island the three men were- joined by Mr’Alan Wilson, whose father and brother lost their lives in the auxiliary motor-boat Viking, which disappeared in bad weather between Sydney and Lord Howe Island in 1936.
