(P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. No trace has been found of Douglas Donald Low, aged 43, a married man with six children, who has been missing since his launch Rose was discovered on a reef near the entrance to Woolloomooloo channel, at Lighthouse Point, Kailcoura, on Satuiday evening. Beach patrols have been searching along the coast, but they found only equipment from the launch. , n ~ A strong north-easterly blew up suddenly about 3 p.m. on Saturday, and greatly increased in force. The launch was coming into thfe Kaikoura fishing harbour entrance about 6 p.m. Mr M. J. L. Reardon said he saw the launch’s red port light, lost sight of it momentarily, saw the green starboard light appear, then the red again, and then the green light continued to chow with the launch moving steadily in a south-easterly direction. When the green light appeared stationary at the reef, he and several other fisher - men went about a mile by car to the reef at the lighthouse point. They saw the launch on the reef. Mr Reardon waded and swam across the Woolloomoloo channel to the reef and found the launch wedged between two rocks with the engine still running. He found no sign of the owner.
