MAORI SELECTORS

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Maori Advisory Board, at a meeting in Wellington at which the chairman of the N.Z.R.F.U. Council, Mr A. St C. Belcher, was present, decided to reappoint the surviving members of the selection committee which chose the Maori Rugby team for Fiji last year. They will have the responsibility of selecting the team which is to leave on may 16 for Australia. The selectors last year were Messrs W. T. Parata (Otago), whose death occurred later in the year, T. French W. P. Barclay (North Auckland), and P. Whaipooti (East Coast), with A. Takarangi (Wanganui) co-opted. ' Mr D.' Prosser (Wellington) has been co-opted this year, together with Mr Takarangi, but it has not been possible to appoint a South Island successor to the late Mr Parata..
