KARACHI, March 12
The Pakistan Foreign Minister (Sir Mohammed Zafrullah Khan) today criticised the systems of democracy, in Britain, the United States, and Russia.
He. told the Pakistan Parliament that the British system was held out as the most beneficent form of democracy in the modern world, but it had not been until recently that poltical power’ in Britain had passed into the hands of the ordinary citizen. Then there was the American system of democracy, where the President exercised supreme executive power, and appointed all his Ministers, who were not responsible in the ordinary Parliamentary sense to the Legislature. Russia had a system of government based on the predominance of a particular political party Sir Mohammed Zafrullah Khan added that the solution for Pakistan was to base her Constitution on the precepts of Islam.
