Standard Of N.Z. Bowls
Lack of uniformity in the rules of the games between New Zealand and Australia has surprised the president of the Australian Bowling Council (Mr J. Gibson). He §aid' that the disparity confirmed the need for uniform rules throughout the English-speaking countries. Mr Gibson was the leader of the Australian side which has just returned from a tour of New Zealand. He said he considered that generally, New Zealand bowlers were a little superior to the Australian rank and file, although the best 100 Australians would compare favourably with a New Zealand selection. —Sydney, March 13.
