ADVERSE TRADING BALANCE FOR MONTH OF NOVEMBER

(F.A.) AUCKLAND, This Day. New Zealand exports for November amounted to £7,318,000 and imports £10,564,000, showing an adverse balance of £3,246,000 said the Minister of Customs, Mr Nash, today. This was the usual trend for the Dominion’s trade, as imports tend to increase over the last’ three months of the year while the export season had not fully started. The corresponding figures for November, 1947, were: Exports, £10,058,000; imports £11,405,000 with an adverse balance of £1,347,000. The figures for the period January to November showed an improvement in the Dominion’s trading position, the favourable balance for that period being £20,619,000 compared with £6,853,000 for the correspondingperiod of 1947. Exports were valued at £139,163,000 (£120,341,000 in 1947) and imports were worth £118,544,000 (£113,488,000 in 1947),
