The following weather forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today: — Situation: A depression is passing to the south of New Zealand; a cold front is moving north-east over the South Island. Forecast to 5 p.m. tomorrow: Moderate south-west winds predominating; weather cloudy and cool with occasional showers, but improving from the south during tomorrow. Further outlook: Fair.
