TOMMY GUN AND SUPER GALLOP ATTRACTIVELY

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Oct. 14. Continuous rain throughout the final track trials for the Wellington spring meeting at Trentham this morning made conditions far from good. The only track, available was the two-year-old track which steadily deteriorated. Work of an attractive nature was definitely limited. Tommy Gun had the best time over half a mile, and others who pleased over this distance were His Lordship, Mangatiti, and Super. Robin’s Reward impressed when he shaded Sweet Nymph over five furlongs. Batley, Julius Caesar, and Signal Officer produced sound efforts over longer distances. Terrific and Fairhome ran the last three furlongs of their work in 41sec. Hormuz showed his usual track ability by covering a mile in 1.50, the last half in 54 1-5. He revelled in the. going. Sweet Nymph and Robin’s Reward went their last four of six furlongs in 52 3-5, the first furlong in 12 3-5. They finished on terms. Robin’s Reward looks to have come through a good preparation. Sir Royal and Dymondy handled the going well and they finished on terms over half a mile in 52sec.

Useful Gallops
