M.C.C. TEAM LEAVES ENGLAND FOR SOUTH AFRICAN TOUR

The M.C.C. team to tour South Africa left England by boat last week. The tour will commence at Capetown on October 29 and end on March 15, 1949.

The dates of the five Test matches are: —Durban, December 16 to 20; Johannesburg, December 27 to 30; Capetown, January 1 to 5; Johannesburg, February 12 to 16; Port Elizabeth, March 5 to 9. Both England and South Africa will have new captains for the tests. F. G. Mann, of England, has no previous experience as a test captain, while A. D.
