State Housing Criticised
The contention that the State housing scheme in New Zealand was in danger of missing its objective through concentration on one group of the community to the exclusion of the others was made by Mr C. Cameron,. housing and town planning expert, in an address to the social science section of the Wellington branch of the Royal Society of. New Zealand. Mr Cameron, who is an Englishman, has been living in New Zealand for the past two years ana was formerly employed by the Works Department. He advanced as his main premises the facts that ]ust over 50 per cent of the family groups in New Zealand did not include any dependent children under 16 years of age and that another large proportion of the population was composed of single persons —(P-A.).
