SOVIET AGAIN BREAKS BERLIN FLYING PACT

(Rec 11.10 a.m.) LONDON, October 12. The Russians have informed the air safety centre in Berlin that their planes would be carrying out cloud flying and blind flying exercises in the area of Greater Berlin at heights between 3,500 ft, and 10,000 ft. The regulations, to which Russia is a signatory, forbid such operations at less than 10,000 ft. Four hundred German prisoners of war, mainly from the Middle East, are due to arrive in Berlin by train through the “blockade” on October 16. This train is the second since the railways were closed. The Russians have supplied the British with details of the trains schedule and route across the Soviet zone. The British will supply an escort, food and medical supplies for the journey.
