79 RIDERS IN ROAD RACE FROM WAIMATE
(P.A.) WAIMATE, This Day. Seventv-nine riders started in the Waimate to Christchurch cash road cycling championship of 135 miles. The race is expected to finish about 2.30 p.m. The limit men were despatched at 8 a.m., and the scratch men at 9.5 a.m„ with a following wind. Non-starters were K. Gordon (Dunedin), A. Bergamini (Greymouth), V. Hills (Auckland).
