Poverty Bay Golf Event
Mrs R. F. Hutchinson, of Poverty Bay. won the women's open golf championship of the Poverty Bay Ladies’ Club yesterday, beating Mrs C. F. O’Connor, of Hamilton. 2 and 1, in the final. Mrs O'Connor was 2 up at the turn, but the Gisborne player squared the match at the fifteenth and took the next two holes, the second with a birdie. Miss M. Jefferd, Hastings, last year's winner, was eliminated in the semi-final by Mrs O'Connor. 2 a?,d 1. Mrs Hutchinson beat Mrs Peacock. Waipukurau. 8 and 6. in the other semi-final. — (P.A.)
