At the Pueblo of Los Angeles, she meets Cameron, an American smuggling guns to Monterey for the army garrison there. Cameron and his aide assist Maria and Tamara in getting to Santa Barbara and then continue to Monterey where Cameron is met by his old friend Reed. A love triangle develops .with sword play, an attack on the fort, and the capture of pirates who attempt a kidnapping.
