Grey River Dredging Co., Ltd.—For the fortnight ended August 11, the dredge worked 249 hours, handling 135,900 yards for a return of 297.3 ounces of gold. July totals: 553 hours, 321.761 yards, 987.87 ounces of gold.— (P.A.) Queensland Brewery.—The directors recommend a final dividend on ordinary shares at the rate of 3| per cent, for the half-year ended June 30, making 7 per cent, for the year, and also 2-J per cent, on preference shares, making 71- per cent, for the year, both payable on August 2.— (P.A.)
1 Sale of Dunedin Brewery.—Consent was granted by the Otago Land Sales Committee yesterday for the sale of the Dunedin Brewery and Wilson Malt Extract Company Ltd., to R. Powley and Company, Ltd., for the consideration of £47,000. This amount was apportioned by consent into land and buildings, including special water supply, £.11,600; plant and machnery, £7500; casks, £4500; goodwill, £23,400.—(P.A.) Huddart Parker,—An interim, dividend of 3 per cent, on preference shares and 5 per cent, on ordinary shares will be paid on September 16. Books close September 6.—(P.A.) Wellington Woollen.— The directors recommend payment for the year ended June 30 of a final dividend of 2 per cent., with, a bonus of 3 per cent, (unchanged). This applies both to ordinary and preference shares. The annual meeting will be held on September 8, and transfer books will be closed from August 26 to September 8, inclusive—ex dividend August 26.—(P.A.)
