Railway Guard Killed
1I A guard was run over by a railway • wagon at Taipuha on Monday after- • I noon. He died five minutes after , being admitted to the Whangarei Hos- ' pital. He was George Strawbridge, ■ aged 49, of Corn Street ,Whangarei, a married man with five children. Mr j Strawbridge was guard on a mixed ' train that was shunting at Taipuha, ' about 30 miles south of Whangarei. The porter was at the points and I when the guard did not come along ' with the trucks he looked up and ' saw Mr Strawbridge lying across the ' line.—(P.A.)
