COAL BRIQUETTING WORKS ADVOCATED
The question of a coal briquetting works at Stillwater was discussed at the monthly meeting of the Greymouth branch of the New Zealand Labour Party last evening. It was decided to make representations to the Minister of Mines, Mr McLagan, to give consideration to the project. It was pointed out by Mr P. Blanchfield that Stillwater was the natural centre of the coal transport system of the West Coast. . Mr Blanchfield, who raised the subject, said that so far only the cluinis of Buller and Canteibuiy had been advanced. A resolution of sympathy with the relatives of the late Mr James Conaghan, a member of the branch, was carried. r. Miss M. Anderson, M.L.C., was appointed to represent the branch at the annual conference in Dunedin next month. _
