GREAT OIL SEARCH IN AUSTRALIA
(Rec. 2 p.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. The biggest oil search in the history of Australia ..will soon be carried out, according to Dr H. G. Raggart, director of the Commonwealth Bureau of Minerals. The area of the search will be thousands of square miles round Kimberley, Western Australia, and the survey will probably take five to complete. The'bureau is pooling, its resources with those of leading mining and oil companies and'a large team of men will take part in the work. R.A.A.F. photographers have already taken aerial photographs of the territory and ground surveys will begin in the next few weeks.
