Anglican Primate Returns From Islands
(P.A.) AUCKLAND, This Day. On returning today by Skymaster from Fiji, where he tendered • congratulations to Bishop Kempthorne on the 25th anniversary of his consecration as Bishop of the Islands Diocese, the Anglican Primate of New Zealand, Archbishop West-Watson, said he had also visited the leper station at Makogai. He was most agreeably surprised at the cleanliness and discipline of the colony, he said. Sixty-live per cent, of the patients were eventually cured. The majority looked extremely fit, many showing no signs ,of leprosy. Convalescent and receiving homes had been erected, largely with financial assistance from New Zealand sources. The secretary cl the New Zealand. Anglican Board of Mission*, Mr W. G. Southwood, returned with the Archbishop.
