Excellent combination between the Marist backs and forwards proved too much for Hokitika to counter in the match at Cass Square, Hokitika, and Marist ran out winners by 37 points to 16. J. Pascoe, J. Curnow and V. Meates (backs) and J. Mundy and P. Costello (forwards) were the spearhead of the Marist attack, which was maintained at a fast pace. R. Neilson (forward) was outstanding in the Hokitika team while the new recruit, H. Tainui, and D. Teen went well in the backs. A. Gillman and M. West Coast Selectors Are Appointed The result of the ballot among the clubs for the appointment of the West Coast senior and senior reserve selectors was announced yesterday. There were seven, nominations for senior selectors and the successful candidates were Messrs J. Dodds (Blackball), R. Clark (Ngahere) and J. Oakley (Greymouth). For the senior reserve grade there were eight nominations and Messrs T Watson (Runanga), J. McNaughton (Blackball) and T. Freeman (Cobden) were the successful candidates.
