THREAT OF GENERAL STRIKE IN ITALY
ROME, April 3. The Communist-led Italian Confederation of Labour, which has 6,000,000 members, has ordered a general strike for April 8 if the police by then have failed to trace a Sicilian labour leader who disappeared mysteriously several days ago. Troops arrested between 30 and 40 Communists after the discovery on the outskirts of Rome of hidden arms sufficient to equip a battalion.
