CHELLOW DENE AND PALABOA WIN RACES AT WESTPORT

(P.A.) WESTPORT, March 15. The Westport Jockey Club meeting was concluded today in fine weather, with a good crowd, and the track in splendid order. The totalisator handled £15,814 10s, compared with £14,876 last year. The total for the meeting was £30,509, £l5O more than last year’s total. After the opening event, C. Stokes, rider of the second horse, objected to the award of the race to Kinlass, ridden by W. D. Skelton, on the protracted inquiry by the judicial committee no action was taken. After the Coalfields Hack Handicap, C. J. Walsh, trainer of Maka Maka, the second horse, objected to the placing of the winner Post Graduate, ridden by W. D. Skelton, on the grounds of interference, but the protest was dismissed. Skelton was reprimanded and warned to take precautions in pulling out.
